Lenore Elizabeth Madison was born December 18, 1922, in Moorland, Iowa, the daughter of Grover and Martha (Lodding) Hostetter. She grew up and attended school in Moorland and graduated from Moorland High School in 1941. She went on to attend Buena Vista College in Storm Lake where she earned her teaching certificate, graduating in 1943. Lenore then taught school in Lone Rock and Havelock for two years.

On July 3, 1946, Lenore was united in marriage to Milton Madison at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They lived on the family farm near Lone Rock following their marriage. She enjoyed working on the farm and had her daily routine of gathering and cleaning the eggs and helping clean the milking equipment after the cows were milked. They continued living on the farm until moving in to Lone Rock on April 1, 1980.

Lenore enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed raising roses, gardening, music, singing in the choir and traveling, especially the bus trips they took upon retirement. She was a very active member of the Presbyterian Church where she was a long time choir director, Sunday school teacher a member of the UPW and a Bible study leader. Lenore also sang in the Kossuth County Women~s Chorus.

Lenore died Thursday, June 26, 2014, at her home in Lone Rock, Iowa. She was 91.

She is survived by her children, Mary Lee Reuvers of Paullina; Kent and Pam Madison of Lone Rock; grandchildren, Jennifer (Chris) Bengtson, Jon (Dawn) Reuvers, Johanna Reuvers and fiancé, Todd Anderson, Melanie (Jeff) Mortensen, Mandy Madison and fiancé, John Kastendieck and Kellen (Samantha) Madison; great-grandchildren, Zander and Emercyn Bengtson; Kade, Taylor and Reid Reuvers; Willard Anderson; Jace, Axel and Esme Mortensen and Miranda Madison.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milton on April 13, 1991, and father and mother-in-law, Christian and Mary Madison.
