CHARLES CITY — Elizabeth “Betty” Richards, 90, of Charles City, died Saturday, March 2, 2013, at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

Funeral services for Betty Richards will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Grace United Methodist Church in Floyd. Pastor Martha Bennett will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Nashua.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and Thursday at the church an hour prior to the service.

Elizabeth Jeanette Richards was born Feb. 18, 1923, at Plainfield, the daughter of George and Jessie (Shadbolt) Richards. She graduated from Nashua High School in 1940 and from Gates Business College at Waterloo in 1942.

On Sept. 29, 1942, she was united in marriage to Clinton Richards. Betty was a business partner with Clint in numerous business enterprises for 65 years. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and Wildwood Golf Course. Her interests included golfing, bowling and playing cards. For 37 years Betty and Clinton looked forward to wintering in Dade City, Florida.

Living family members include her husband of 70 years, Clinton Richards of Charles City; four children: Marlys Richards of Salt Lake City, Utah, Darlene (Russel) Troyer of Floyd, Nancy (Royce) Stephens of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Keith Richards of Fayetteville, Ark.; 12 grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren; a great- great-grandson; a brother, Merwin (Betty) Richards of San Marcos, Texas; and a sister, Marjorie (Bud) Strike of Waukon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Clyde, Rual, Roger and Beryl Richards; and three sisters: Alene Moine, Joyce Swinton and Marian Zwanziger.

The Hauser Funeral Home, 641-228-2323, in Charles City, is in charge of arrangements.
