BRITT — Robert W. Rasmuson, 72, of Britt, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt.

Memorial services for Bob Rasmuson will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church, 70 Fifth Avenue Northwest, in Britt, with Pastor Lee Nelson officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Britt.

Visitation will be today, Tuesday, July 9, 2013, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Ewing Funeral Chapel, 178 Center Street West, in Britt, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Bob married his high school sweetheart, Erlis Trulson of Britt, on August 3, 1958. Bob’s passions included fishing, hunting, golfing, C-SPAN and political analysis, and reading. Bob provided for his family through many jobs: Britt Co-op, farming, popcorn stand, insurance sales, Rasmuson Standard Service, and Morton Buildings sales and management. At age 50, Bob and Erlis sold their home in Britt and became co-owners of Cozy Bay Fishing Resort in Brainerd, Minnesota. After 12 years of resort work, Bob earned his real estate license and sold property in the Brainerd area before retiring with his bride back in Britt.

Bob is survived by his wife, Erlis of Britt, daughter Robin Earles of Des Moines, Iowa, sons Greg (Jolinda) Rasmuson of Benson, Illinois, Todd (Tamara) of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Kelly (Marge) Rasmuson of Ankeny, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; siblings Marjorie Schrader of St. Paul, James Rasmuson of Britt and William J. (Amy) Rasmuson of Britt; sister-in-law Shirley (John) Tegtmeyer of Britt.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Lion’s Club of Britt to help the Britt community (Bob was a past president and an active member) or at the discretion of the family.
