OSAGE — Lorne Kenneth Quarn, age 98, of Osage died Thursday, May 30, 2013, at the Good Samaritan Society in St. Ansgar.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 6, at the First United Methodist Church in Osage with Pastor Sam Mack officiating. Inurnment will be at the Osage Cemetery.
There will be a gathering of family and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, with a Masonic Service by Osage Masonic Lodge 102 A.F. & A.M. at 6:30 p.m.
Lorne was born on Feb. 5, 1915, in Two Harbors, Minn., the son of John and Cena (Johnson) Quarn. He graduated from high school at Two Harbors.
Lorne married Ruberta Greenfield on July 31, 1943, at Mason City, Iowa. They lived in Cherokee before moving to Osage in 1946.
Lorne was employed by the state of Minnesota Forest Service and was a construction superintendent for the railroad. He was also a self-employed construction contractor and was a supervisor at White Farm in Charles City.
Lorne was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Osage Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed traveling, working with stained glass and woodworking.
Lorne is survived by his daughter, Pat (Dave) Ehresman of Arden Hills, Minn.; grandchildren, Christopher (Julia) Bartlett of New York, N.Y.; Sara Wakefield of Irvine, Calif.; great-granddaughter, Riley Lorne Wakefield; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruberta Quarn in 2009; his parents; three brothers: Carl Lower, Herbert Quarn and Robert Quarn; two sisters: Belle Nelson and Magdalene Undem.
