Melissa Sue Pfeffer, the first daughter of Luke and June (Vaske) Pfeffer, was born on August 9, 1983, in Britt, Iowa. At the age of two, the University of Iowa diagnosed Melissa with Autism. When she was seven she joined the home of Exceptional Opportunities in Burt and lived there until the time of her passing. While living there she worked at Options several times a week.

Although she was non-verbal, she always knew when it was Sunday as she would wait at the window for her family to spend the day together. She spoke through her eyes and infectious smile.

Melissa enjoyed walks, riding on the four wheeler, going on car rides, shopping, watching her DVD~s with music and pictures of the family, listening to country music and looking for the golden arches of McDonald~s as she loved her cheeseburger and french fries.

Melissa left this world on Sunday, October 13, 2013, at the age of 30 to be with God and the angels. She passed away at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa in Mason City.

Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Luke and June Pfeffer of Algona; sisters, Brittany Pfeffer of Britt and Alicia Pfeffer of Algona. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and her Execeptional Opportunities family who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, along with two aunts, an uncle and cousins.
