HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. — Lowell C. Peterson, 84, of Hot Springs Village passed away on Monday, April 22, 2013, at Arkansas Hospice.

He was born July 26, 1928 in Forest City, Iowa, to the late C.L. and Leonore Peterson.

Lowell grew up in Buffalo Center, and graduated from Luther College. He attended graduate school at the University of Iowa. Lowell served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

He had a forty-year-long career in the home mortgage and banking industries.

Lowell loved music and always made sure he was a member in the church choir. He played piano and traveled Europe while playing with the Army Band. Lowell was a lifetime golfer who dearly loved his family and friends.

Lowell is survived by his loving wife, Fran Peterson; sons, Mark Peterson of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., David Peterson of El Paso, Texas, Paul Peterson of El Paso, Texas and John Peterson (Ky) of El Paso; stepson, Mitch Carney (Charlotte) of Houston, Texas; stepdaughters, Pam Utter (Dan) of San Ramon, California and Dawn McCarrell of Aurora, Colo.; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be at noon Thursday, April 25, at Woodlands Presbyterian Church with funeral service to follow at 1 p.m., with Dr. Jim Farley officiating.

Pallbearers include David Peterson, Mitch Carney, John Peterson, Mark Peterson, Paul Peterson, Dan Utter, Spencer Carney and Charles Opela.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Woodlands Presbyterian Building Fund, 11 Ecuestre Drive, Hot Springs Village, Arkansas 71909.
