CARROLL — Mary Helene Pederson, 58, of Carroll, Iowa, died Sunday, July 21, 2013, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.

Funeral was held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, at Carroll First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Bill Wenig of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Des Moines officiating.

Music for the service was by Bill and Molly Benson and Mike and Susan Moore. Casket bearers were Kyle Rotert, Anthony Bushnell, Derek Pederson, John Wallace, Steve Fey, Cliff McFarland, Bill Orlano and Mark O’Leary. Honorary casket bearers will be Sam Wallace, Nicholas Pederson, David Bushnell, Emily Rotert, Michaela Bushnell, Rachael Bushnell, Ben Rotert and Leah Rotert.

Burial was at Carroll City Cemetery.

Born June 21, 1955, at Mason City, Iowa, she was a daughter of Ralph H. and Dorothea (Dexheimer) Wallace. She grew up in Mason City and graduated from Mason City High School in 1973. She was married to Dave Pederson on July 21, 1973, at the home of her parents in Mason City. The couple made their home in Clear Lake where she worked at Handicap Village for five years before moving to Minneapolis. They also lived in Menomonie, Wis., for nine years before moving to Carroll in December 1989. Mary served as a volunteer in the Carroll Community School District for 21 years. Mary was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed music, reading, socializing with her friends, and she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her husband, Dave, of Carroll; two daughters: Sarah Bushnell and her husband, Anthony, of Blaine, Minn., and Bekah Rotert and her husband, Kyle, of Ankeny, Iowa; six grandchildren: David, Michaela and Rachael Bushnell and Emily, Benjamin and Leah Rotert; a brother, John Wallace, and his wife, Kerry McDonald, of Grimes, Iowa; a brother-in-law, Derek Pederson, and his wife, Carrie, of Lakeville, Minn.; her stepmother, Muriel Wallace, of Mason City; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents.
