MASON CITY — Andrew “Andy” Mauricio Jr., 58, of Mason City, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 Second St. S.E., Mason City, with a one-hour prior visitation. Inurnment will immediately follow at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery in Mason City.

Andrew Mauricio was born on May 9, 1954, to Andrew Mauricio Sr. and Carolyn (Barragan) Houston in Mason City, where he resided most of his life. He earned his GED while being enlisted in the infantry. He attended a technical college, NEI. For many years Andrew worked at 3M fixing computers and in sales. He also used his work skills to give presentations for schools. Andrew enjoyed traveling and going on walks.

He is survived by his children, Nicole Gaynor, Amber Mauricio and April Mauricio; his parents, Andrew Mauricio Sr. and Carolyn Huston; sister, Mary Rumeliote; brother, Robert Mauricio; 11 grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Henry and Julia Barragan.
