Floy Charlotte Marlow was born August 11, 1913, near Livermore, daughter of Ray and Catherine (Riley) Salmon. She attended country school through the 8th grade and 9 to 11th grade in Livermore. At the age of 65 she took her G.E.D. and received her diploma.

Floy married Merwin Marlow of the Lone Rock area on December 2, 1933. She enjoyed playing cards, making quilts, writing letters, baking pies, and telling stories. She was a member of Lone Rock Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Women~s Club, and she was a hospice volunteer for several years.

Floy C. Marlow died Friday, October 18, 2013 at the Heritage Nursing Home in Bancroft. She had been a resident there since September, 2002.

She is survived by two sons, Merrill Marlow and his wife Betty of Phillipsburg, MO, and Kern Marlow of Elkader; six grandchildren, Terry (Angie) Marlow of Glenwood, Chris Konfrst of Glenwood, Scott Marlow of Kansas City, MO, Michelle (Mike) Orr of Elgin, Mitchell (Ginger) Marlow of Burt, and Mikkel (Angela) Marlow of Burt; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Frank Collins; her husband; a daughter-in-law, Angie Marlow; two sisters, Eva Salmon and Erma Dugan; and brothers, Roy Salmon, Francis Collins, and Don Collins.
