Arlene Lillebo, age 92 of Forest City and formerly of Thompson passed away Thursday April 25 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Forest City.

Funeral service will be 11 AM Tuesday April 30 at Zion Lutheran Church in Thomson, IA with Pastor Wayne Halverson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Thompson.

Arlene LaVonne Stuart was born November 18, 1920 to George W. and Luena (Flo) Stuart in Thompson, IA. She was baptized by Nathan N. Batchler on June 12, 1922 and confirmed by Rev. Heddle on April 14, 1934 and then became a member of Ellis Point Methodist Church in rural Thompson. Arlene was a Sunday School teacher and a choir member.

Arlene graduated from high school at Thompson in 1938 where she was also a member of the choir. She graduated from La James School of Cosmetology in Mason City in 1942, after which she was employed in the area for a time.

On June 25, 1950 she was married to Raynold K. Lillebo of Thompson at the Ellis Point Methodist Church. They lived in Thompson all of their married life.

Arlene became a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Thompson in 1955. She was a member of Zion Ladies Aid for many years and president for 2 years, a choir member for several years and an honorary ladies aid member at the time of her death.

Arlene and Raynold were sponsors for two girls that joined them from near Seoul, Korea. Jung Kim in 1968 and Minah Ryu in 1969, the both lived with them for several years and they considered them both their daughters.

Arlene is survived by her sisters Carol Schneider of Sacramento, CA and Dorothy (Bill) Bradley of Wichita Falls, TX, grandchildren, Hannah and Eugene as well as many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brother Wayne, sister Adna, nephew Jeffry.
