Ruth Ann Bockelman Leavens, 80, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton in Hampton, Iowa.
She was born July 10, 1932, in Hampton, Iowa, to Adolph E. and Hazel L. (Brandt) Bockelman. Ruth graduated from Hampton Community High School. She married Delos Merle Crawford on November 27, 1949, and he passed away in 1974. She then remarried Duane “Bud” Leavens on December 13, 1985, in Hampton, Iowa. Ruth was a lifelong member of the St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Hampton. She was also a member of the Franklin General Hospital Auxiliary and the Hampton Senior Center. Ruth enjoyed going to church activities, mushroom hunting and having homemade ice cream at the Franklin County Fair.
She is survived by her husband Duane “Bud” Leavens of Hampton, daughter Patricia (Bill) Dane of Kearney, Missouri, son David (Barbie)Crawford of Albuquerque, New Mexico, daughter Sue Crawford of Hampton, son Randy (Jamie) Crawford of Rochester, Minnesota, step children Connie (Darwin) Ramker of Waverly, Red (Dolly) Leavens of Forest City, Paul (Aleta) Leavens of Topeka, Kansas, Pam (Jeff) Dralle of Greene, Emily (Doug) Trees of Greene, Tom (Dorothy) Leavens of Greene, Wendell (Julie) Leavens of Greene, brother Ralph Bockelman of Whittier, California and numerous grandchildren, step grandchildren, great grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Delos Crawford, grandson Brock Crawford and two brothers.
Burial will take place at the Hampton Cemetery in Hampton, Iowa
