Marvin Simonsen Larsen, 75, of Eveleth, Minnesota, passed away on August 29, 2013, at his home in Eveleth, Minnesota.

He was born on March 20, 1938, in Hampton, Iowa, to Martin and Addie (Simonsen) Larsen. Marvin attended Franklin Consolidated Schools and US Trade School in Kansas City.

He was married to Barbara Balvanz on May 1, 1960, at the Grant Center Lutheran Church; they were later divorced.

Marvin worked as a mechanic for three years, a lineman for REC for four years and as an electrician for eighteen years. He was part of the IBEW, the Lutheran Laymen~s League, the Latimer Fire Department and was a former member of the St. John~s Lutheran Church in rural Hampton, where he was active with helping with many of their projects alongside his children. Marvin had recently been attending services at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Mountain Iron, Minnesota; he was one of the many that had a helping hand in building the church along with doing some of the janitorial work.

Marvin is survived by his son John (Traci) Larsen of Pleasant Hill and their children Tyler, Nathan, Nolan and Dana, son Jeff (Erin) Larsen of Scarville and their children Tyson, Jordan, Kody, Branden, Addie, Ellie and Theo, son Jarred (Melody) Larsen of Grand Junction and their children Ethan and Rylan, son Jason (Jacqueline) Larsen of Northwood and their children Lexy, Marley and Sadey, daughter Jeanne Larsen of Kansas City, Missouri, sister Pansy (Bob) Alcorn of Waterloo, sister Janice (Roger) Vaughn of La Porte City, along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Martin and Addie, son James Larsen and sister Delores Moffitt.

Burial will take place in St. John~s Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Hampton.
