FLOYD | John L. Koresh, 88, of Floyd, formerly of Prairie du Chien, Wis., passed away Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at the Nora Springs Care Center in Nora Springs, surrounded by his family.
A memorial mass service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at St. John~s Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien, Wis. Family will greet friends from 9 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Inurnment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Prairie du Chien, Wis.
Sheckler Colonial Chapel, 114 North Hawkeye, Nora Springs, is in charge of the arrangements.
John was born on Dec. 14, 1924, in Prairie du Chien to John and Sophie (Pintz) Koresh, and was the last living of 11 children.
Those left to cherish his memory are his two sons, John R. (Mary) Koresh of Elkader, and Richard D. Koresh (special friend Cathy Diercks) of Floyd. Also family dog and grampa~s companion Sammy. There are nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.
Preceding John in death were his parents, John and Sophie; brothers, George, Joe, and Bob; sisters, Leone Reckter, Hattie Stevens, Tilli Meyers, Rosie McFall and Mildred Spiker and brothers, John and Lawrence who died at birth; also daughter Sharon (Kermit) Brooks, and daughter-in-law, Sandra (Richard) Koresh.
