MASON CITY — Randy A. Haskins, of Mason City passed away on April 21, 2014, at Muse Norris Hospice, Mason City, the same day in which he came into this world, on his 51st birthday.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Epiphany Parish-Holy Family Catholic Church, 714 N. Adams Ave., Mason City, with the Rev. Neil Manternach officiating.
Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Epiphany Parish-Holy Family Catholic Church, 714 N. Adams Ave., Mason City, where a time of sharing will be held at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be given to the Randy A. Haskins Memorial Fund.

Randy was a son of Barry P. and Dorothy (Gibson) Haskins Sr. He was united in marriage to Amy S. Arnold on Oct. 14, 1989, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rockwell. To this union three children were born.

He attended Mason City schools, graduating from Mason City High School in 1981. Randy furthered his education by earning an associate in business degree from NIACC, a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Iowa, and a master’s degree in business from Drake University.

Following his graduation from the U of I in 1985, Randy moved to Minneapolis, where he lived before returning to Mason City in 1989. He spent 25 years with Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, in the IS Department. He was very passionate about his work and proud to be the senior director of information services.

Randy’s life revolved around his family and friends. Golfing, swimming and boating on Clear Lake are among the many activities he truly enjoyed. Trips with family and friends were also a special highlight. Randy would say he had a really good life, with many blessings, he just wished it could have lasted longer.

He gave of himself to the community in many ways. These include serving on YMCA board, United Way, Mason City Country Club board (President), Masters Swimming of Iowa, Holy Family Catholic Church parish council, Habitat for Humanity, and the state chapter of Health Information Management Systems Society (President).

Randy’s family includes his wife, Amy (Arnold) Haskins, Mason City; daughters, Emma Haskins, Iowa City, Sarah Haskins, Mason City; son, Evan Haskins, Mason City; mother, Dorothy Haskins, Mason City; brother, Barry Haskins and his wife Kaye, Waterloo, and their daughters, Lindsay (Rustin) Lippincott, Cara (Chad) Cerullo; in-laws, Pete and Rilla Arnold, Mason City; brothers and sisters in law, Rob Arnold, Mason City, Pam Hoskins, Ankeny, Jennifer (Jeff) Conrad, Phoenix, Ariz.; several nieces and nephews and many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his father, Barry P. Haskins, Sr.
