MASON CITY: Marilyn J. Grouette, 70, of Mason City, died Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa.
Memorial services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. Tom Dettmer, Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Inurnment will take place in Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday at Major Erickson Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the Marilyn J. Grouette Memorial Fund.
Marilyn was born August 26, 1943 in Mason City the daughter of Gean L. and Velma “Lorraine” (Harriot) Grouette. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1963. Marilyn was long time employee of the Holiday Inn, 1965-1997, and also worked as a CNA at the Good Shepherd Health Center. She retired from Good Shepherd in 2004.
Marilyn’s church affiliation was through Trinity Lutheran Church and she was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary. A few of her interests included quilting and animals.
Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Lucinda Collette(Mark Malloy) of Joice; granddaughter, Chelsea Grouette ( Josh Osborn) of Mason City; brother, Darrel (Susan) Grouette of Homestead, Florida; sisters, Lois (Dennis) Lukes of Homestead, Iowa, Margaret Provin of Mason City; nieces, nephews, and cousins; honorary daughter, Peggy Koehler; honorary granddaughter, Kailey Williamson.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, and 1 brother, John.
