Davenport — Jeanette K. Bruhn, 66, a resident of Davenport, died Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

Funeral services and a Mass of Christian Burial were held 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 17, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 417 Main Street, downtown Davenport. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport.

Visitation was Tuesday, April 16, from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, downtown Davenport.

Jeanette Kay Bruhn was born on Aug. 21, 1946, in Mason City, Iowa, a daughter of Lawrence and Margaret (Buck) Kiger. She was united in marriage to James Bruhn on Nov. 12, 1988, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.

Jeanette worked for Genesis Medical Center at both campuses. She retired in 2011 after over 25 years of service. She served in many capacities at Genesis, including CNA, unit secretary, and monitor tech.

Jeanette cherished her family, and would check in with them daily over the phone. She enjoyed being entertained by her husband Jim and bands he would play with.

Jeanette is survived by her husband, Jim, Davenport; sons and daughters-in-law, William and Chris Wright, Council Bluffs, and Bobby and Rachel Wright, Davenport; grandchildren: Johnathan, Charlene (Chris), Melissa (Ryan), Justin, Dylan, Jade, Harrison, Landon, and Ainsley; great-grandchildren: Desiray, Paige, Nickolas, Pacience, Payton, Ali, and August; siblings; Margaret “Peggy” Shanks, Nora Springs, and Larry (Gloria) Kiger, Kahoka, Mo.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her son, Shawn Wright, her parents, and a sister Henrietta Kiger.
