MASON CITY — Bonnie Pattschull, 64, of Mason City, died Friday June 6, 2014, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2014, at Good Shepherd Health Center with Pastor Kent A. Mechler and Pastor Sean McRoberts officiating. Family will great friends one hour before the service.

Bonnie was born on Oct. 19, 1949, in Mason City, the daughter of Esten Leroy “Pete” and Clara Louetta “Lou” (Moore) Pattschull.
She attended Mason City Schools graduating in 1968. While in elementary and junior high she was a cheerleader and played the saxophone. She continued playing the saxophone in high school in the symphonic band. Mode O~day was her first job. She furthered her education with Upward Bound as well as becoming a certified lab technician in Waterloo. Her first job as a lab tech was in Chicago. She then traveled back to Iowa and worked at Des Moines General Hospital and for a short while in Perry.

Also while in Des Moines she became downtrodden with mental illness. Even though she was disabled she was very creative teaching herself to knit and crochet. She made lots and lots of afghans, doilies and dolls for her loved ones.

She also befriended others with her condition which meant for very interesting personalities and friendships and wild times.
In 1982 Bonnie and her mother moved back to Mason City, where she was introduced to North Iowa Vocational Center and worked both at the center and Kraft General Foods.

She spent many years with her special friend Carl Bergdale. She moved to Good Shepherd Health Center in 2005.

At times she had a unique sense of humor, but would also be quite cantankerous. She continued her love of music until the end.

Bonnie is survived by her two sisters, Mary Church and her twin sister, Connie Pattschull, both of Mason City; brother, Ted (Lisa) Pattschull, Mason City, two nieces and five nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Terry Wright; two nephews and her special friend Carl Bergdale.
