Mason City — Brigette C. Slattum, 53, of Mason City, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at Muse-Norris Hospice, Mason City.
According to Brigette’s wishes, private family services will be held at a later date
Brigette C. Slattum was born on April 24, 1959, at Mason City, a daughter of Darrel and Mary (Simms) Slattum.
She attended Mason City Schools. Brigette enjoyed being in the company of fun and energetic people. She worked as a waitress at several area establishments. Her love of animals led her to fulfilling work at the Mason City Animal Shelter.
She will be remembered for her sense of humor and her “never give up” approach to life.
Brigette is survived by her sister, Debra (Mark) Bennett, Mustang, Okla.; nephews, Greg (Michelle) Bennett, Golden, Colo., Jeff (Paola) Bennett, Oklahoma City, Okla.; great nephews, Reese and Brady Bennett; special friends, Barb Anderson and Pat Klein; and her faithful companion, Jasper.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, and significant other, Mark Ubben.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to all the health care professionals and the staffs of Hospice of North Iowa and Hogan-Bremer-Moore for their wonderful and compassionate care.
