Mason City — Junior J. Kaduce, 66, of Mason City, Iowa, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 4, at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City, with the Rev. Ron Stein of First Baptist Church in Mason City officiating.
Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon, Feb. 3, from 1 until 3 p.m. and will continue one hour prior to Junior’s service on Monday.
Should friends desire, memorials may be left in Junior’s name in care of his family.
Junior James Kaduce was born on March 27, 1946, in Belmond, the son of Ted and Henrietta (Trager) Kaduce. He attended and graduated from Belmond High School. Following his graduation, Junior opened a greenhouse in Belmond where he would work until it was destroyed by a tornado.
On February 24, 1973, Junior was united in marriage to Donna Gretillat in South Dakota. Together they would share 31 years of marriage.
Throughout the years Junior worked as an aide in many nursing homes and hospitals, and also worked as a floral designer in Clear Lake and at Hy-Vee West in Mason City.
In his free time Junior enjoyed dancing, shooting pool, and fishing. He loved tending to his flower and vegetable gardens and was known by his family for growing delicious strawberries.
Those grateful in sharing in his life are his daughters, Buffy (Ralph) Ramon, Nora Springs, and Kathy (John) Brass, Mason City; grandchildren, Chelsie, Andrew, Geoffrey, Nathan, Ashley, and Jessica; great grandchildren, Gunner, Hunter, and Destiney; brothers, Jerry (Jo) Kaduce, Ark., Maynard Kaduce, Mich., and Ardelle “Sam” (Arlene) Kaduce, Forest City; and his best friend and “Brother“, Agustin (Genoveva) Tinajero, Mason City.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Henrietta Kaduce; his beloved wife, Donna; sister, Ginger Kaduce; and sister in law, Donna Kaduce.
