CRYSTAL LAKE — Lilly Kadlecik, loving mother and wife, 90, of Crystal Lake, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at Algona Manor in Algona, Iowa.
Funeral services for Lilly Kadlecik will be held on Saturday, Feb. 16, at 1 p.m. at Ewing Funeral Chapel, 178 Center St. W., in Britt with the Rev. Robert Snitzer officiating. Burial will be in Crystal Lake Township Cemetery next to her husband Steve Kadlecik.
Visitation will be on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
Lilly, the daughter of Julius and Lily (Marek) Bartek, was born Jan. 1, 1923, in Duncan, and spent her entire life in the Crystal Lake area.
On Jan. 8, 1944, Lilly married Steve Kadlecik. They were married 50 years, and raised six children and nephew Jimmy Kadlecik. In addition to her family, Lilly worked as head cook at the Crystal Lake school house for 22 years, followed by employment at Winnebago Industries. Lilly loved to quilt, garden and cook for her family.
Lilly is survived by four daughters and two sons-in-law: Elaine Sui of Honolulu, Hawaii, Janice Christensen of Algona, Jean Ann (Ken) Lacy of Ocala, Fla., and Jenise (Steven) Kohnke of Jackson, Miss.; four sisters: Ruth Whalen, Millie Black, Marian Conaway and Maxine Taelour. (Her remaining sisters: Helen Black, Elsie Klipping, Emma VanDusseldorp and brother Raymond Bartek reside with the Lord.) Lilly was blessed to have 14 grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Julius and Lily Bartek; husband Steve Kadlecik; son Larry Kadlecik; daughter Sharon Sikes; granddaughter Laurie; along with her sisters and brother mentioned above.
