Mason City — Garret D. Joyner, 15, of Mason City, died Friday, April 5, 2013, at his home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 11, at Epiphany Parish-Holy Family Catholic Church, 714 N. Adams, with the Rev. Neil Manternach, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Mason City, where a scriptural wake service will be held at 5 p.m.

Garret Donald Joyner was born October 5, 1997, the son of Greg and Ginger (Lorch) Joyner.

He attended school at Newman Catholic Schools, where he was currently a freshman. Through the years at Newman, Garret was involved in football, wrestling, baseball, basketball and track.

Garret enjoyed fishing, spending time with his brothers, watching movies, hanging out with his friends and going to hockey games. He treasured the time he spent with his family, as did they.

He was a member of Epiphany Parish-Holy Family Catholic Church, Mason City.

Garret is survived by his mother, Ginger (Chuck) Kraft, Mason City; his father, Greg (Jill) Joyner, Mason City; brothers, Brandon Joyner, Jayden Joyner, Shayne (Amber) Kraft, Ryan Kraft, all Mason City; paternal great-grandmother, Ruth Redeker, Mason City, maternal great-grandmother, Lou Larish, Faribault, Minn.; paternal grandparents, Doug (Sue) Joyner, Sr., Lake Bay, Wash., Deanna Raprager, Mason City; maternal grandparents, Steve Larish, Kenyon, Minn., Chuck (Dixie) Kraft, Mason City, Wanda Harrell, Omaha, Neb.; nieces and nephews, Parker, Aden, Piper, Avrie; aunts and uncles, Trista (Dan) Shimota, Devon (Ashley) Larish, Jade (Josh) Longley, Holly Dunn, Tammi Dunn, Debbie (Larry) Lutton, Linda (Doug) Hanson, Tim (Tammy) Joyner, Louis (Felicia) Raprager; numerous great-aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members and his dog, Lucy.

He was preceded in death by his Grandpa, Butch; uncle, Doug Joyner; paternal great-grandfather, Don Redeker; maternal great-grandfather, Dick Larish; and great-uncle, Don Joyner.
