Milton Leslie Jorgensen was born November 14, 1927, in Doliver, IA, son of Elmer and Alice (Balmer) Jorgensen. He grew up on a farm and attended school in Swea City and graduated in 1945 from Ledyard High School. Milt then served in the United States Navy being stationed in Georgia.

Milt was united in marriage to Patricia McDonald on December 27, 1952, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. They farmed in the Swea City and Ledyard area for over 60 years. Milt was passionate about farming especially enjoying collecting antique toy tractors. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling, trap shooting, hunting, and fishing. He was a member of the Swea City VFW Post and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Milton Jorgensen died Saturday, November 2, 2013, at his home in rural Swea City, at the age of 85.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patty Jorgensen of Swea City; 7 children, Jim (Doreen) Jorgensen of Windom, MN, Bob Jorgensen of Northfield, MN, John (Lori) Jorgensen of Fairmont, MN, Bill (Lora) Jorgensen of Lakeville, MN, Mary (Jeff) Gelhaus of Algona, Margaret (Greg) Brandt of Algona and Don (Rocio) Jorgensen of Ledyard; 13 grandchildren, Jessica Jorgensen and her husband Theon Jarrett, Andy, Aaron, and Adam Jorgensen, Megan and Evan Jorgensen, Chris, Elijah, and Daniel Gelhaus, Brittany and Patricia Brandt, and Desiree and Dustin Jorgensen; three step-grandchildren, Dani, Mary, and Andrea; and a great-granddaughter, Hayden Jorgensen-Lauby. He is also survived by a brother, Bob (Dorothy) Jorgensen of Swea City; his sister and brother~s in-law, Carmen Jorgensen of Dover, AK, Eddie Anderson of Des Moines, Ellen (Jim) Kennedy of Dyersville, Rose Gelhaus of Ledyard, Frank McDonald of Seattle, Joan McDonald of California, Phyllis McDonald of Des Moines, and Evelyn McDonald of Mississippi.

He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Alice; a sister, Betty Anderson; and two brothers, Bill and Wayne Jorgensen.
