Don Wickwire was born on May 30, 1944, in Mason City to Donald and Leonne Wickwire. He attended Mason City High School. Don spent most of his life in the Mason City area, but had also lived in Buffalo Center, Iowa, Ottumwa, Iowa, and Tennessee. Don worked as a truck driver for several companies throughout his life. For enjoyment he liked to golf, play pool, and go bowling with his buddies. He also volunteered at the Senior Center in Mason City where he had served as a board member. He loved playing bingo and cards.

Above all else, Don loved spending time and playing with his grandchildren the most. He had a playful “grumpy old man” sense of sarcasm and humor that his family will truly miss.

Don is survived by eight children: Tina, Jim, David, Dawn, Dana, Shane, Diamond and Francis, 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and loyal dog companion Major.
