Vera Ward, 86, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, and formerly of Pueblo, Colorado, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013, at Scenic Manor, Iowa Falls, under the care of Iowa Hospice. Memorial services for Vera Ward will be 1:30 Thursday, May 9, 2013, at the First Christian Church, 221 Fischer Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa, with Pastor T. J. Norman officiating. A time of visitation and fellowship will follow the services at the church. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Imperial Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Pueblo, Colorado. Memorials may be directed to the family c/o her daughter: Nancy Welden, 23585 145th street, Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126. The Linn’s Funeral Home, 1521 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Vera Lea Marshall was born November 27, 1926, at Pueblo, Colorado, the daughter of Ralph and Blanche [Mountain] Marshall. She attended the Pueblo, Colorado Community Schools graduating with the class of 1944 from Central High School. On June 23, 1946, Vera was united in marriage to Tipton Ray Ward at Pueblo, Colorado. To this union four children were born: Nancy, Jim, Paula, and Sherrie. Vera was a bookkeeper for the Kwik Way Stores, Inc. for many years, retiring in 1995. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Iowa Falls and formerly of the Pueblo Boulevard Christian Church, Pueblo, Colorado. Vera felt blessed by her family. Her children and grandchildren felt loved and nurtured by her.

Vera Ward is survived by her children: Nancy [Brad] Welden of Iowa Falls, Iowa, Jim [Carol] Ward of Sacramento, California, Paula [Athan] Loukakis of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Sherrie [Brad] Zeutenhorst of Sheldon, Iowa; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and three sisters: Priscilla [George] Drew of Pueblo, Colorado, Marilyn Stewart of Boulder, Colorado, and Carole [Rudy] Denz of Aurora, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents: Ralph and Blanche Marshall; her husband: Tip Ward [April 5, 1991] and a sister: Norma Shanstrom.
