MASON CITY | Olga Geraldine Walswick, 93, of Mason City died Saturday, October 26, 2013, at the Heritage Care Center in Mason City.

A funeral service for Olga will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at the Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third Street NE, Mason City, with Pastor Kathy Graves of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mason City officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Highway 18 West, Mason City.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and one hour prior to service time on Wednesday at the chapel.

The family of Olga’s would like to suggest that those wishing to give a memorial in her memory may wish to direct them to Trinity Lutheran Church in Mason City.

Olga Geraldine Walswick was born on August 5, 1920, in Mason City, the daughter of Joseph and Ida (Anderson) Lyngaas. Olga attended and received her education in the Mason City Public School. To help out the war effort, Olga worked at the Mason City Hemp Plant.

She was united in marriage to Ansley Walswick on May 17, 1948, in Hampton. He preceded her in death on April 12, 1999. Olga loved being a wife, mother and grandmother.

Olga had a very strong Norwegian heritage. She loved raising cats and dogs, gardening, fishing, playing Bingo, fellowship with the residents at the Heritage Care Center, Bible Trivia, Choose your numbers game, watching TV, writing letters, reading and sitting outdoors enjoying the summer days and evenings.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mason City.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Barbara (Tom) Nixt of North Mankato, MN, Marilyn (Ron) Bizek of Port St. Joe, FL, and David (Shirley) Walswick of Mason City; six grandchildren, Brendon (Jeanie) Walswick of Mason City, Kari (Michael) Magaard of Rockford, MN, Brandt (Eva) Bizek of San Antonio, TX, Brian (Amanda) Bizek of Port St. Joe, FL, Mike Nixt of Minneapolis, MN, and Steve Nixt of North Mankato, MN; 7 great-grandchildren: Drew and Kelsey Walswick, Lexi, Mickey and Will Magaard, and Alexis, Blake and Chloe Bizek; 13 great-great-grandchildren; as well as other extended family members and friends.

Olga was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, David Walswick who died on October 30, 1977; her husband, Ansley Walswick; and three brothers: Bobbie, Joe and Jerry Lyngaas.
