Osage — Harriet Irene Trusty, age 94, of Osage, died Monday, April 22, 2013, at the Good Samaritan Society in St. Ansgar.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Osage with the Rev. Bruce Kaltwasser officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, south of Osage. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Harriet was born July 15, 1918, in Cedar Township, Mitchell County, the daughter of Albert and Minnie (Hartwig) Troge. She was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Cedar Township, and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Osage. The family lived in Cedar Township until moving to Osage in 1925. Harriet attended Osage public schools and graduated from Osage Community High School in 1936. She married Charles Trusty on Aug. 16, 1942, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Osage. In February 1951, they adopted their daughter, Dianne. Harriet worked at the Mitchell County Auditor’s Office and worked for one and a half years during World War II at Lawton in Seattle, Wash. She also worked for 30 years for the U.S. Government Agricultural Stabilization Services in Osage. Harriet was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she served as an organist and was an active member of LWML. She was also a member of Osage V.F.W. Auxiliary, Osage American Legion Auxiliary, and Wa-Tan-Ye Service Club. Harriet enjoyed gardening, playing cards, bowling, bingo, playing the organ, traveling, cooking, and reading.

Harriet is survived by her grandchildren, Todd Schotanus of Lancaster, Calif., and Carrie Hinders of Osage; six great-grandchildren, Josiah Schotanus, Dianna Schotanus, Brett Kluender, Arianna Kluender, Trinity Hinders, and Tucker Hinders; four nephews, Eric (Arlys) Troge, Robert (Kathy) Salge, Richard (Mary) Salge, and David (Alicia) Salge; four nieces, Christine Lueske, Gretchen (Rev. Stephen) Gallo, Melissa (Howard) Estervig, and Debbie Troge.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Trusty; her daughter, Dianne Trusty; an infant grandson, Anthony; brother and sister-in-law, Wilbur and Helen Troge; and a nephew, Kurt Troge.
