FOREST CITY — Leslie L. Olson, 94, of Forest City, died Friday, July 5, 2013, at the Concord Care Center in Garner.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City, with Pastor Greg Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.

Burial will be held at Pilot Knob Lutheran Cemetery in rural Forest City.

Leslie, son of Lewis Olson and Clara Larson Olson, was born on the family farm in Ellington Township, Hancock County, Iowa, on January 25, 1919. He graduated from Ventura High School in 1936. He farmed at home with his parents and later moved to El Segundo, Calif., to work for Douglas Aircraft for three years. When his father died in 1943 he came home to help farm the family land. Leslie began working for Gjellefald & Associates, Forest City, in 1946.

On October 23, 1950, he married Irmalee Winger. In 1958, he began his career with Winnebago Industries, working there until retirement. He was proud to have delivered some of the first Winnebago trailers. Les and Irmalee enjoyed many years of travel together and winters spent in Florida.

Leslie is survived by his wife, Irmalee; sister, Ionia Oman of Millersville, Md.; sister-in-law, Gladys Olson of Forest City; sister-in-law, Luella McKay of Hernando, Fla.; sister-in-law, Barbara Winger of Salem, Ore.; as well as nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wilbur; brother-in-law, Lyman Oman; sister-in-law, Nettie Thomas; and brother-in-law, Don Winger.
