Faribault, Minn. — Stephen A. “Steve” Momberg, age 66, of Faribault, Minn., died on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at his home.

A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, July 19, at 11 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Faribault.

A memorial visitation will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, on Thursday, July 18, from 4 to 7 p.m.

Stephen A., the son of S. A. and Lynne (Ballantyne) Momberg was born on August 17, 1946, in Charles City, Iowa. He graduated from Mason City High School in 1964 and later Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa, in 1969, with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He married Debbie Bickford on July 1, 1967, in Clear Lake, Iowa.

He was formerly employed by the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, the Wilson Center of Faribault, American Income and Platinum Services.

Steve was very active in many organizations and boards including the Faribault School Board (past chairman), South Central College Board (past chairman), the United Way of Rochester (past vice president) and Faribault (past president), Eastwood and Northern Hills Golf Courses of Rochester, Minn. (past vice president) and he was a member at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Faribault.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie; four children, Beth (and Kevin) Fette of Faribault, Kathy Ryan of Denver, Colo., Chris (and Lori) Momberg of Northfield, Minn., and Rick (and Mary) Momberg of Faribault; seven grandchildren, Kayla, Nicholas and Katelyn Fette, Micah and Talia Momberg, Oliver and Hennessy Momberg; one sister, Barb (and Jim) Nervig of Waukee, Iowa; one niece, Margaret Nervig, and one nephew, Robby Nervig.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
