Mason CitY — Patricia “Pat” Pauline Ivonavitch, age 72, died at the Heritage Care Center March 26,2013.

Pat was born October 18, 1940, in Mason City to Anton F. “Pinky” and Viola C. (Grell) Schulze. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1958. After graduation, she married Richard L. Frederick of Rembrandt, Iowa, and moved to Fort Gordon, Georgia, where he was stationed with the Army. They had one child together in 1959.

In late 1959, Pat moved back to Mason City with her infant daughter. She and Richard were later divorced.

In 1963, she married Robert Ivonavitch of Mason City. They later divorced.

Pat worked in retail most of her adult life with her last place of employment being Wal-Mart for over 20 years before retiring. Pat loved animals, especially cats and dogs. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, collecting dolls and music.

Pat is survived by her daughter, Dr. Toni Frederick-Dakin (Tom) of Kensett, her older sister Mitzy Nedved (Wayne Leegaard) of Mason City; older brother Randy Schulze (Debbie) of Forest City, Iowa; younger sister Betty Lashley of Primghar, Iowa; younger brother Darrell Schulze (Mal Ye) of Broken Arrow, Okla., and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an older brother, Bobby, in infancy.

According to her wishes, Pat was cremated and a memorial graveside service for the family will be held at a later date.
