Marion Ingebritson, age 93, of Lake Mills, died Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at the Lake Mills Care Center in Lake Mills, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 26, 2013, at Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills with Pastor David E. Jordon officiating. Burial will be in Salem Lutheran Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Otto/Chose Post #235 of Lake Mills.

Visitation for Marion will be from 9:30 AM until the service time, at the church on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Salem Lutheran Church, 401 S. Lake Street, Lake Mills, Iowa, 50450, or to the donor’s choice.

Marion Ingebritson, son of John and Christie (Egenes) Ingebritson, was born on June 2, 1919, in Winnebago County, Iowa. During his younger years the family lived in the Thompson, Rake and Buffalo Center area.

Marion was drafted in August of 1941 and spent four years with the United States Army in the South Pacific. After returning home he was employed at the Thompson creamery.

On October 19, 1947, Marion was united in marriage with Elaine Bergland at North Prairie Lutheran Church. They moved to Lake Mills in 1954 where Marion was employed by the Lake Mills Creamery. In 1967, they purchased the East Side Grocery and operated the “Little Store” for 14 ½ years. Marion retired in 1981.

Marion and Elaine spent 20 warm winters in Mission, Texas. Golf was Marion’s favorite sport and he had three “hole in one”s during his many years of playing golf.

Marion is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Elaine; sons, David (Barbara) Ingebritson of Apple Valley, MN, Steve Ingebritson of Fraser, CO, and Robert (Chung-Mei) Ingebritson of Rockwell City, IA; four grandchildren, Jacob Ingebritson, Cally Ingebritson, Ann Ingebritson, and Tiffany Ingebritson; and two great-grandchildren, Myah and Tobin. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Arlene Ingebritson, sister- and brother-in-law, Lorraine and Ervin Wangsness, brother-in-law, Gary Bergland; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; all of his siblings, Bertha, Lloyd, Julius, Nora, Albert, Ray, Lillie, Pearl, Palmer and Margaret; his in-laws, Elmer and Ada Bergland; brother-in-law, Rev. Lloyd Anderson; brother- and sister-in-law, Robert and JoAnn Nelson; and a sister-in-law, Mary Jo Bergland.
