Mason City — Our Little Angel Destiny Jaylynn Jean Hjelmgren, 2½, daughter of Chris and Alesha Hjelmgren of Mason City, Iowa, passed away at her home on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 and is now with Jesus.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. with a one- hour prior visitation today, Wednesday, July 31, at Victory in Christ Church, 604 23rd St. S.W., Mason City. Reverend Larry Day will be officiating.

Interment will follow at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.

Destiny was born on January 25, 2011, to Chris and Alesha Hjelmgren in Mason City. She enjoyed watching “Finding Nemo” with her Mommy, Daddy, and Big Brother. She was really smart and easy going. She looked forward to being a big girl and learning new things.

Destiny is survived by her parents; brother, Christopher James Hjelmgren Jr.; maternal grandmother, Jody Kay Sutton of Dubuque, Iowa; paternal grandmothers, Mary Bentley and Vicky Jensen both of Mason City; paternal grandfather Blaize Hjelmgren of Las Vegas, (Janea Sorenson of San Diego, Calif.); maternal great-grandmother, Donna Jean Sutton of Maquoketa, Iowa; paternal great-grandparents, Dave and Audrey Hjelmgren of Saint Paul, Minn.; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and special family friends.

She was welcomed into heaven by her maternal great-grandfather, James Sterling Sutton; maternal great-uncle and grandfather, James Daniel Sutton; great-aunt, Jean Peckles; and paternal great-grandmother, Margret Waldorf.
