Fort Dodge — Janell A. Kickbush, 71, of Fort Dodge, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 4, at the New Covenant Christian Church in Fort Dodge with the Rev. Michael Carmody officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of service Thursday at the New Covenant Christian Church in Fort Dodge. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Calvary Cemetery in Algona.
The Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements.
Janell A. Johnson was born in St. Benedict, Iowa, on December 30, 1941, to Charles and Ethel Johnson. She grew up and went to school in Algona, Iowa. She was married to Rodney Kickbush and had two daughters, Katherine Marie (Mark) Miller and Angela Janet Hornsby. Jan and Rod later divorced.
She spent most of her adult life in the Mason City and Clear Lake area. Janell worked for Legal Services of Iowa for over 25 years as the office manager. She had a heart for those in need and would reach out to many of their clients.
Janell has four grandchildren, Andrew, Adam, Leah and Hailey. They were her biggest pride and joy in her life. She would often encourage them and tell them they could do anything they set their mind to.
Janell loved the water and lived on Clear Lake for many years. Her favorite place to visit was the Gulf Coast of Florida where there were many good and precious memories.
Janell also leaves behind sisters, Virginia Baxter of Clear Lake, Lois Brinkema of Webster City, Shirley (Robert) Metzger of Ames and a brother, Robert Johnson of Clear Lake.
Janell was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Kenneth, Charles, Rodney and Curtis and sisters, Darlene, Marion, Joann and Elizabeth.
