Junior C. Havig, 88, of Dumont, Iowa, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2013, at the Franklin General Hospital in Hampton, Iowa. He was born on September 17, 1924, in Osage, Iowa, to James and Winifred (Sido) Havig. Junior attended schools in Dumont. He was united in marriage to Marlene Wearda on December 27, 1946, in Dumont, Iowa. Junior served is country in the United States Army in World War II. He spent most of his working life as a farmer finally retiring in November of 1995. Junior was an active member of the New Hope Parish of the United Methodist Church in Dumont and a member of the Dumont American Legion. He loved golfing and bowling. Junior is survived by his wife Marlene of Dumont, son Kenneth and wife Patty of Bristow, son Larry and wife Deone of Dumont, eight grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Betty, brother Keith and grandson Bryan Walsh.
Burial will take place at the Dumont Cemetery
