Hampton — Donald G. Guldberg, 91, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at the Franklin General Hospital in Hampton.

He was born on June 1, 1921, in Franklin County, Iowa, to Karl and Maude (Lage) Guldberg. Donald graduated from high school in Latimer. He was united in marriage to Lois V. Andersen on July 3, 1943, in Goodfellow Field, Texas. Donald served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II and was a prisoner of war in Germany. After his discharge from the USAF, he was involved in aviation until 1956. Donald owned and operated Hampton Heating from 1956 until his retirement in 1980. He was involved in various organizations in the Midwest. Donald was a member of the Hampton United Methodist Church. He enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, flying airplanes, fishing in Canada and was an avid aviation enthusiast.

Donald is survived by his son Ross (Carla) Guldberg of Winona, Minn., and their children Christopher (Cory) Guldberg of Chicago, Ill., Charity Guldberg of Mishawaka, Ind., Lisa Kutil of LaCrosse, Wis., and Terry (TJ) Stewart II of Onalaska, Wis.; son Kurt (Judy) Guldberg of Aurora, Ill., and their son Judd (Melissa) Guldberg of Gurnee, Ill.; eight great-grandchildren; brothers Ted (Marilyn) Guldberg of Hampton and Junior (Mac) Guldberg of Coulter; longtime companion Chloe Stock of Hampton; along with special friends Mike Stock and Michelle Guldberg. He was preceded in death by his parents Karl and Maude Guldberg, wife Lois V. Guldberg and brother Glenn Guldberg.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 10, at the Hampton United Methodist Church in Hampton, with the Rev. Steve Winsor officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 9, at the Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton. Burial will take place in the Hampton Cemetery.
