Mason City — Danny Lee Groves, 50, of Mason City died Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 29, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 670 12th St. N.E., Mason City, with the Rev. Brian R. Kom officiating. Inurnment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Thornton.
Danny’s family will greet friends one hour prior to services at the church Friday.
Memorials may be given to the North Iowa Diabetic Association for children’s projects and research.
Danny Lee Groves was born Dec. 6, 1962, at Rantoul, Ill., a son of Gene and Joellen (Clabaugh) Groves. He was united in marriage to Terri Kaye Young on Feb. 3, 1983, at Albert Lea, Minn.
He was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Mason City, and the American Diabetic Association.
He is survived by two sons, Danny Lee Jr. (Dusty), Des Moines, and Jason, Des Moines; mother, Joellen (Duane) Bramsen, Gainsville, Mo.; father, Gene Groves, Alamogordo, N.M.; brother, Perry (Kelly) Groves, Tucson, Ariz.; sister Patricia (Jeff) Newman, Omaha, Neb.; nieces and nephews, Ashley, Emily, Bobby, Michael and Jennifer; step-sister, Linda Ellman, Mason City; step-brothers, Butch Bramsen and Bill Bramsen, Mason City; and special friends, Lorraine Dirksen, Mason City, and Robin Spindler, Omaha, Nebraska.
