Richard A. Goscinski, age 79, of Newell, Iowa died Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Newell Good Samaritan Center in Newell. Richard Albert Goscinski was born April 15, 1934 in St. Elmo, Colorado the son of Watzie and Jennie (Kozlowski) Goscinski. Growing up, he attended school in Colorado through the eighth grade. On November 9, 1954 Richard enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country during the Korean Conflict until he was honorably discharged on November 8, 1957. On November 2, 1968 Richard was united in marriage to Judy Chambers in Salida, Colorado. Together, they were blessed with two children: Tammy and Richard. Richard was a member of the Newell American Legion. In his spare time, you would find him racing or watching his sons race. Richard enjoyed driving truck and rock hunting. He had a passion for the Newell-Fonda Mustangs and the Denver Broncos. Richard loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Judy Goscinski of Newell, Iowa; children: Richard W. (Tami) Goscinski of Clear Lake, Iowa; Barbara (Lee) Moore of Pueblo, Colorado; Mary Lou Goscinski of Pueblo, Colorado; Richard Jr. Goscinski of Pueblo, Colorado; Frankie Goscinski of Pueblo, Colorado; grandchildren: McKenzie and 15 others; brother, Ronald (Rose) Goscinski of Chicago, Illinois; special family friends: Keith (Jill Linke) Demey of Newell, Iowa; Pat Demey of Storm Lake, Iowa; Sheryl Gerdes of Lake View, Iowa; Louie (Maria) Rodriquez of Albert City, Iowa; Kris (Mike) Naranjo of Albert City, Iowa; Teresa Bernal of Albert City, Iowa; Rudy Harden of Albert City, Iowa; Stacie Coppinger of Fort Dodge, Iowa; Richard’s dog, Lily B; and his cats, Lily C, Ashberry, and Snowball; extended family and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; Watzie and Jennie Goscinski; daughter, Tammy Goscinski; brothers, aunts, and uncles.

Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Newell.

Visitation will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 17, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Newell.
