ST. ANSGAR | Duane Christ Jorgensen, 90, died on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014, at his home surrounded by his wife and four children.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, with the Rev. W. Paul Weeg officiating. Burial will be in the St. Ansgar Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the Walter T. Enneberg Post No. 358 of the American Legion.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar.

Duane Christ Jorgensen was born in Devils Lake, North Dakota on July 7, 1924, to Christ and Minnie (Christiansen) Jorgensen.

He was united in marriage to Janice Gottsch on Feb. 9, 1947, in Omaha, Nebraska. To this marriage four children were born: Dwight, Kenneth, John and Ann.

Duane served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, in Okinawa and Sing Toa, China.

During his retirement years Duane took great pride in his vegetable and flower gardens.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 67 years, Janice; his four children, Dwight (Theresa Cooper) Jorgensen, Kenneth (Lynn) Jorgensen, John (Jackie) Jorgensen and Ann (Mike) Powers; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert and Don Jorgensen; sister Betty Lou Nicol; one grandson, Mark Jorgensen.
