MASON CITY | Mary S. Craig, 52, of Mason City, joined her Lord and Savior in Glory on Sunday (March 23, 2014) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, surrounded by her fiancé, Enrique Chavez, and her family.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday (March 28, 2014) at the Salvation Army Church, 747 Village Green Drive, Mason City, with Major Vicki Cole, Captain Robin Rutledge and Captains Dale and Rebecca Simmons officiating.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening (March 27, 2014) at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. N.E., Mason City, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and will continue one hour prior to Mary~s service at the church on Friday.

Mary Sue Craig was born on January 18, 1962, in Iowa City, the daughter of Richard and Eva (Young) Craig.

In her younger years Mary loved camping with her family and looked forward to camping and fishing nearly every weekend in the summertime.

She and her family attended the Salvation Army Church where she was a Junior Soldier.

Mary also attended Mason City High School and graduated among the class of 1980.

Following high school Mary was united in marriage to John Craig in Mason City, the couple would be blessed with a son, Cory Craig.

Seven years later Mary and her boyfriend, Salvador Tellez, would welcome her second son, Jamie, into their family.

In more recent years Mary enjoyed taking her two sons fishing along the Greenbelt Trail in Nora Springs, working at New Beginnings Consignment Shop for Shirley Krissinger, going to garage sales with her son, Cory, and dancing in Hampton with Enrique Chavez.

Mary always had a great love for her pets and over the years had chihuahuas, min pins, and terriers; but her favorite dog was always her terrier, Nipper.

Mary loved listening and dancing to country and Spanish style music. She especially loved the music of Elvis Presley, Conway Twitty, and Loretta Lynn, and had an impressive Elvis and Conway Twitty collection of memorabilia.

Those grateful in sharing in her life are her two sons, Jamie and Cory Craig; grandchildren, Anna Craig, Angelina Craig, and Ava Schipper; her parents, Richard and Eva Craig; her fiancé, Enrique Chavez; her childhood friend, Leanne Lansaw-Craig; her siblings, Barb (Lenny) Peters, Randy (Tracy) Craig, Ronda Lorenz, and Tammie Estrada; and many nieces and nephews.

Mary is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Hazel and William Young; paternal grandparents, William and Edna Craig; brother, Duane Craig; and her favorite uncle, Alvin Young.
