NORA SPRINGS | Patricia O’Banion, 61, of Nora Springs, died Thursday, July 31, 2014, at her home following a ten month battle with cancer.

Memorial services for Patricia O’Banion will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First Congregational Church in Charles City. Pastor Forrest Cornelius will officiate.

Inurnment will be at a later date in Park Cemetery in Nora Springs.

The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until service time.

Patricia Beth DeBolt O’Banion was born March 19, 1953, at Corning, the daughter of Robert E. and Marjorie (DeVore) DeBolt.

She graduated from Charles City High School in 1971 and then from Hamilton Business College.

Patricia worked for two years at the New York City Health Department and for 38 years at North Iowa Area Community College.

In February of 1979 she was united in marriage to Richard O’Banion. They lived all their lives in Nora Springs.

She was a member of First Congregational Church in Charles City.

Patricia enjoyed cooking, crafting and going on day trips with Richard.

Living family members include her husband, Richard O’Banion of Nora Springs; a son, Benjamin O’Banion of Nora Springs; sisters, Karen (Andre) Mountenot of Cranbury, N.J. and Marilyn (Gary) Wilcke of Clinton; mother, Marjorie DeBolt, of Charles City; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; and brother, Robert G. DeBolt.
