Leo Weber, 87, of Charles City, died Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.
A funeral Mass for Leo Weber will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Reverend Gary Mayer will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Charles City.
Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, where a Scripture Service will begin at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the Mass on Friday.
Leo Henry Weber was born August 5, 1926, in Stacyville, the son of Joseph and Anna (Gilleganbach) Weber. He received his education in Stacyville. On June 26, 1951, he was united in marriage to Marjorie “Marge” Maravetz at Lourdes. Leo worked at Oliver/White Farm Equipment Company for 44 years and also part time at Becker Home Improvement. He retired in 1980. Leo was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Heritage Club and was a retired UAW member. He enjoyed “nice” cars and watching baseball. Over the years Marge and Leo enjoyed bus trips to various parts of the country. His greatest source of pride was his family.
Living family members include his wife of 63 years, Marge of Charles City; five children, Linda (Bob) Culbertson of Longville, Minn., Wayne (Bobbi) Weber of Brooklyn Center, Minn., Sharon (Dave) Rouse of Longville, Minn., David (Kim) Weber of Charles City and Laurie (Kevin) Wiltse of Rochester, Minn.; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Gilbert, Edmund, Kenneth, Sylvester and Aloysius “Shorty” Weber; and a sister, Theresa Blake.
