Robert “Bob” Eugene Cavitt was born May 6, 1937, in Iowa, the son of Paul and Wemkie Cavitt.

He grew up in and around Klemme living with his mother Wemkie (Trampel) Cavitt in the south part of Klemme on Arthur~s Lane.

He was a life long member of the Immanuel Reformed UCC Church in Klemme where he was baptized and confirmed.

Bob attended and graduated from Klemme High School in the Class of 1954.

Bob was employed as a farm hand for numerous farmers around the area for many years. He truly loved the farm life and enjoyed working the land and caring for the livestock.

He had also traveled for a number of years working as an employee with the Carnival.

He loved the people and those who had the chance to ride on one of the many rides that he was operating with the Carnivals knew that Bob would always give them more than their monies worth if he was in charge.

He relished the opportunity to bring the smile to the faces of both family, friends, and acquaintances in all that he did in life. Bob always strove to make others~ days brighter.

Be it that extensively thrilling carny ride like the “Tilt-A-Whirl,” that special gift he would often save for them which he planned for well in advance, or the wonderful and jubilant singing he would share with them spontaneously at almost any family gathering.

He very much enjoyed the simple pleasures of life.

The family remembers his beaming from ear to ear as he would drive his various stock cars over the years at the North Iowa Speedway, sometimes nonchalantly tooling around the track without worrying about where he was running in the competition, just enjoying being in the middle of the action.

Bob enjoyed collecting and wearing all kinds of hats.

He loved listening to music and was always checking up on the whereabouts and happenings in the lives of the many people he knew from the area.

His family recalls that Bob was often on a can hunt when they would get together and would often times police their vehicles in search of cans.

He will be remembered for being a soft spoken man, with a great wit, warm smile, and wonderful sense of humor.

Those left to cherish his life and memory included his aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Wemkie, his grandparents, uncles, and aunts.
