MASON CITY | LaVonna M. “Vonnie” True, 79, of Mason City, died Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Heritage Care Center.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery with Pastor Kathy Graves, Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating.

There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the Vonnie True Memorial Fund. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.majorericksonfuneralhome.com.

Vonnie was born May 15, 1934, in Butterfield, Minn., the daughter of Leonard and Mamie (McStockard) Shaw. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1952. She married Rollie A. True June 7, 1957, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. Early in her marriage, she worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company. Vonnie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Vonnie is survived by her brother, Leonard (Connie) Shaw and family of Fremont, Neb.; special niece, Gina Bergstrom-Shaw and her family of New Jersey; extended family members including Rollie’s nieces, nephews and their families.

Vonnie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rollie in 2000; twin brother, Ronald; sister-in-law, Dorothy.
