MOUNTAIN HOME, Arkansas | A Funeral Service for Margaret Ella Rasmussen, 93, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel.

Margaret passed away July 28, 2014, in Mountain Home. She was born April 10, 1921, in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of Reuel H. and Nona Pickard Rosemeyer.

She married Wayland G. Rasmussen on October 17, 1955, at Newkirk, Oklahoma. Margaret lived in Mountain Home since 1977, moving from Mason City, Iowa.

She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.

She enjoyed knitting, reading, and watching football games. She volunteered at Baxter Regional Medical Center, Gassville Library, taught knitting and was instrumental in getting flags to line the highway on holidays in Gassville.

She helped carry on the traditional Thanksgiving dinner at church.

Margaret is survived by her sons, James (Joanne) Rasmussen of Hampton, IA and Joel (Shirley) Rasmussen of Clear Lake, IA; daughters, Jae Leigh Woodsmall of Mountain Home, AR and June Erwin of Dale City, VA; sister, Glenys Schuldt of Augusta, KS; grandchildren, James (Sheri) Vierkant, Adam (Sam) Rasmussen, Alicia (Justin) Hansen, Daniel Rasmussen, Katie Jo (Jake) Walker, Ben Erwin, Matt Erwin and John Erwin and great-granddaughter, Hayley E. Vierkant.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Milton Rosemeyer.

Burial will be in the Gassville Cemetery.
