Marvin “Skeeter” John Novak, Jr., 61, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 11:40 a.m. at his home. He was born on March 24, 1952 in Charles City, IA to Marvin J. & Ila M. Arhart Novak, Sr.

He married Dawn Cunningham on July 21, 1973 in Joice, IA and they later divorced. He then married Tammy Boone in Fort Madison and they later divorced.

He worked for the Dial Corporation first in Mason City, IA, then in Omaha, NE and later transferred to Fort Madison. He worked for Dial for 32 years. He also loved to perform magic for children, woodworking and fishing. Being a man of God, he enjoyed sharing his faith in Christ with others.

Skeeter is survived by: 5-sons: Jaime (Jennifer Johnson) Novak of Fort Madison, IA, Jason Novak of Fort Madison, IA, Aaron (Sarah) Novak of Watertown, NY, Chris (Steve) Nye of Fort Madison, IA, Mike (Jordyn) Novak Montrose, IA; 1-daughter: Jennifer (Josh Shallcross) Novak of Fort Madison, IA; 11-grandchildren; 2-sisters: Idella Shores of Fort Madison, IA & Fran (Bob) West of Kissimmee, FL; 3-nieces & 4-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Per his wishes, cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. with a memorial service to be held at 10:00 a.m. all on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev.
