CLEAR LAKE | Nadine R. Girard, 84, of Clear Lake, died Sunday (Feb. 16, 2014) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City.

Due to potential inclement weather, Nadine~s funeral service has been rescheduled to Friday (Feb. 21, 2014) at 1:30 p.m. at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City, with Pastor Jeni Bohls of St. James Lutheran Church officiating.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to Nadine~s service at the funeral home on Friday.

Should friends desire, memorials may be left in Nadine~s name in care of her family.

Nadine R. Orcutt was born on July 19, 1929, in Mason City, the daughter of George and Leata (Green) Orcutt. She attended Mason City High School. Following high school Nadine was wed to Truman Peterson; together they would be blessed with their son, Jerry.

In her early years Nadine worked for Deluxe in Lake Mills. Nadine then worked as a cook in area restaurants throughout North Iowa. She began working at the Maid Rite in Lake Mills with her mother-in-law before working in the kitchen at the Clear Lake Truck Stop. In her free time she enjoyed reading, playing cards with her friends, and watching movies and Court TV, her favorite show being Judge Judy.

On Aug. 15, 1967, Nadine was united in marriage to Frank Girard in Beatrice, Neb. Frank would precede her in death in 2008.

Those grateful in sharing in her life are her son, Jerry (Peggy) Peterson, Glenville; granddaughters, Renee (Brian) Hamrick, Mason City, and Tracy (Kevin) Frette, Ankeny; stepgrandson, Jay Prizler, Albert Lea; five great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Wayne (Ann) Girard, St. Paul, Minn., Warren Girard, Jacksonville, Fla., Wynn (Rita) Girard, Mechanicsville, Va., and Wendy (Steven) Strand, Forest City; sisters, Ila Carter, and Mary Richards; her close friends, Loren and Louaine Jordahl and their family; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank; her stepdaughter, Wynette Foss; her brothers, Richard Green and Lawrence Orcutt; and her sister, Betty Olsen.
