MITCHELL | Bonnie Lee Dau, 78, of Mitchell, died suddenly on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center.

Memorial services will be held on Feb. 18, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, Mitchell, with the Rev. David Werges officiating.

Per Bonnie’s wishes, she was cremated and inurnment will be at a later date at Oak Grove Cemetery, Mitchell.

Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home of St. Ansgar is in charge of arrangements.

Bonnie Lee Dau, daughter of August and Laura (Marcks) Beyer, was born at St. Ansgar on Jan. 25, 1936. She attended rural schools and Osage High School.

In December 1954, Bonnie married Lindon Perry Dau at Prairie du Chien, Wis., and they renewed their vows in 1965.

She was a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church, having been a Bible school teacher, circle leader and helper in many projects, including re-leading for some of the stained glass church windows.

Bonnie worked for the Mitchell School Cafeteria until the school closed. She then was a dispatcher at the Mitchell County Sheriffs Office and at the Floyd County Sheriffs Office as a jailer.

Bonnie’s interests included making leaded glass things, flowers, especially her many hostas, and her many bird feeders and birds.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lindon on Feb. 9, 2011; and stepfather, Garret Roby.

She is survived by her brothers, Robert Beyer of Rochester, Minn., and Gary Roby of Osage; sister-in-law, Sylvia (Robert) Wilson of St. Ansgar; nephews, Jeff, David, Eric and nieces, Penny, Candy, Laurie, Suzette and numerous relatives and friends.

Bonnie will be missed by her family and friends. Blessed be her memory.
