CHARLES CITY | Marjorie Franke, 87, of Charles City, died Friday, February 14, 2014, at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.
There will be a gathering of family and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Hauser Funeral Home.
Marjorie Lenore Inman Franke was born June 16, 1926, in Dallas County, the daughter of Floyd and Grace (Sulgrove) Inman.
She graduated from Charles City High School. On November 8, 1945, she was united in marriage to Robert Franke.
Marjorie worked in the office of Salsbury Laboratories for two years.
She was a member of Charles City Women’s Club, Cedar Side Neighborhood Club and Hoe and Hope Flower Club. Marjorie will be remembered for her flower gardening and arranging abilities.
Family was of greatest importance to her and she looked forward to sharing life’s experiences with them.
Living family members include two children, Douglas (Kathy) Franke of Charles City and Vicki (Dave) Stone of Mason City; four grandchildren, Bridgette Quade, Brandon (Whittney Nordmeyer) Franke, Tanya Borts and Toni (Joe Pate) Lewis; and six great-grandchildren, Makenzi and Zackary Quade, Autumn Lewis, Mia Pate, Brandon Borts and Blake Hannigan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Robert on April 1, 2011.
