MASON CITY | Marilyn R. Werner, 79, of Mason City passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

A funeral service for Marilyn will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at the Victory in Christ Free Methodist Church, 604 23rd Street S.W., Mason City, with Pastor Gary Clark officiating. A private committal service will be held at a later date in the Elim Cemetery, rural Fertile.

A visitation with a public viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St., N.E., Mason City.

Should friends desire, memorials may be left in Marilyn’s name in care of Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel.

Marilyn R. Werner was born in Mason City, Iowa, on Aug. 5, 1934. She attended school and graduated in Hanlontown, Iowa. On Sept. 23, 1972, she was united in marriage to Erwin Werner.

Marilyn was employed at Kentucky Fried Chicken most of her life, but spent the last 10 years of her employment working at IC System, retiring at the proud age of 74.

She is survived by her children, Chuck (Sara) Werner, David (Dawn) Werner, Beth Brunsvold, and Debbie Meyerhofer; grandchildren, Bonnie (Dale) Klunder, Cole Werner, Bryce Werner, Jason (Shelby) Werner, Steven (Brittany) Werner, Bill (Carrie) Pate, Kathie (Thomas) Gaither and many other family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Erwin, parents, grandparents and sisters.
