Nadine Berg, age 79 of Scottsdale, AZ and formerly Lakota passed away Wednesday January 1, 2014 at the Concord Care Center in Garner.

A memorial service will be held 1PM Saturday January 4 at the Eagle Center in Lakota with Pastor Lynn Noel officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the center.

Inurnment will be at a later date.

Nadine Mae was born December 5, 1934 in Northrup, MN to Dick and Hazel (Smith) Ludeman. She grew up Elmore with her older brother Meryn and older sister Marv.

She met Buryl Berg, her high school sweetheart, and married him on December 10, 1951 at the Little Brown Church. She and Buryl lived outside of Elmore with their beloved children Becke, Mickey, and Rich.

In 1982 she and Buryl headed south to Roadrunner Lakeside Resort where they spent the next 30 years. During her time in Iowa and Arizona she enjoyed baking cakes and Cowboy Cookies, camping at Dawson’s, playing cards, watching the Arizona Cardinals, Diamondbacks, and Phoenix Suns, hosting family and friends, planting flowers and watching humming birds. Nadine was an avid shopper and made sure that no family member ever went without.

Nadine spent the last year at the Concord Care Center in Garner. She and her family are so thankful for the past year they had to spend together. During this time she especially enjoyed outings to the local nail spa and mall with all of her family.

Nadine is survived by her daughter Becke (Mark) Dorenbush, sons Mickey and Rich (Theresa) Berg, grandchildren Chris (Kristy) Berg, Deah (Bryan) Hested, Gina (Steve) Rooney, Blake Berg and fiancé Lindsey Squier, and Brooke Berg and friend Nick Veenstra, great grandchildren, Abbie and Maxwell Berg, Hailey, Sydney and Makayla Hested, and Jack Rooney.

Nadine is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Buryl in 2003, brother and sister, brother-in-law Bill Herath, sister-in-law Gwen Jensen, and niece Helen Fuller.

Nadine’s family would like to thank all of the loving and caring staff at the Concord Care Center who provided for Nadine over the past year. She was thankful for their professionalism and friendship as well.
