CINCINNATI, Ohio | Barbara Catherine Kolda, 106, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at the Hospice of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio.

A private graveside service will be held in the Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa.

Barbara Catherine (Frank) Kolda was born in the German-Russian village of Rothammel on July 12, 1907. The family immigrated to America and settled in Mason City, Iowa. In 1965, she moved to Phoenix, Ariz., and resided there for over 29 years, and in 1994 moved to Cincinnati to be with her son.

She was a life member of the Moose Lodge, was involved with Catholic Daughters of America and the Rosary Group of Good Shepherd.

Barbara is survived by her son, Donald and his wife Betty; two grandsons, Scott and Thomas; five great-grandsons; sister, Teresa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; parents, Jacob and Catherine Frank; grandson, David; and nine of her siblings.
